  • Grant CollardChief Executive Officer

    Grant is a Founder and Partner at Redstone Residential and serves as CEO. His responsibilities include business development as well as overseeing the financial operations of the company’s portfolio. Since 2009, Grant has grown Redstone from 1,000 to just under 12,000 beds of student housing, and has underwritten in excess of $290mm in closed student housing acquisitions. Grant is a graduate of the BYU Marriott School of Management, where he studied Finance. Grant holds a real estate broker license in the States of California, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

  • Jake JarmanChief Operating Officer

    Jake is Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Redstone Residential. As a widely respected customer service and customer experience guru, his primary responsibilities include overseeing the company’s sales activities and ensuring successful leasing at the company’s portfolio properties. Prior to his time at Redstone, Jake was president of a manufacturing company who marketed their products through online sales. Jake has also worked as a licensed Massage Therapist and enjoys helping people feel and be their best.

  • J. Gaylun SmithPresident

    Gaylun is Founder and Partner at Redstone Residential and serves as President. Gaylun brings 40 years of “on the ground” management experience to Redstone Residential. He began his career in the property management industry as a maintenance manager in 1976, as a college student. Since then, Gaylun has owned and operated thousands of beds of student housing and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Gaylun graduated from BYU with a degree in Finance. He holds a Utah and Michigan real estate broker license.

  • Eric BergPortfolio Manager

    Eric is a Portfolio Manager at Redstone Residential. Eric has been working in the Property Management industry for the past 8 years. He began working part-time as a maintenance technician while getting his education at Brigham Young University. Since that time he has gained experience at every level of property management. He is currently a portfolio manager who oversees various properties in several states. Eric’s experience with the different levels of property management has given him a well-rounded background and the ability to give guidance concerning the different issues that property managers are presented with on a daily basis. Eric’s hands-on experience gives him a unique perspective that ensures the success of the properties in his portfolio. Eric currently manages a portfolio of over 2000 student housing beds, 100 market-rate multi-family units, and 350,000 square feet of shopping centers.

  • Kristy McClintickPortfolio Manager

    Kristy is a Portfolio Manager at Redstone Residential, overseeing a large portfolio of student housing properties. She has worked in the multifamily or student housing industry for the past 19 years. Mrs. McClintick started her career as a leasing consultant, quickly joining the AIMCO START Team, where she travelled around the United States to rehabilitate distressed properties. She has worked as a Property Manager for properties with up to 528 units, and has worked as a regional manager for AMC and Mission Rock, overseeing portfolios of up to 2,200 units in the Western United States. She’s also a veteran of the United States Military and can take down anyone in the office on a whim. She may also be under cover… verdict is still out.

  • Jayme BuhlmanPortfolio Manager

    Jayme is a Portfolio Manager at Redstone Residential. He brings over 16 yrs of experience in property management, including conventional/multi-family and student housing. If you live in the United States and are associated with our industry, chances are you’ve heard of Jayme already. He’s overseen various regions, districts, and geos – to name a few: Washington, California, Texas, Utah, Tennessee, New Mexico, Georgia, North Carolina, Idaho, Oklahoma, and Colorado. He knows his stuff and can give you solid market knowledge about nearly every region in the Country. As if he didn’t have enough to boast about, he can beat budgets while driving his teams to lease up unfinished properties; still in development. Who needs the property when you can fill it before it’s even there, right?

  • Donetta KnightPortfolio Manager

    Donetta brings nearly 40 years of experience in student housing to Redstone Residential. Donetta manages a large portfolio of several of our UVU and BYU properties.

  • Michael CollardProperty Controller

    Michael serves as a Property Accountant at Redstone Residential. Over the last five years Michael has provided back-end support to go with Redstone Residential’s growth with the implementation of new accounting systems, new payroll systems and a streamlining of the company’s benefits program. Michael oversees accounting functions for 11 properties in Redstone’s portfolio, as well as oversees financial operations for the company’s commercial real estate affiliate, NAI Vista.

  • Stephany DowningProperty Controller

    Stephany Downing is a Property Controller at Redstone Residential. Her main areas of focus include supervision of production of financial statements for Redstone’s portfolio on a monthly basis. Prior to Redstone, Stephany held various accounting positions with Campus Evolution Villages and United Campus Housing. Stephany graduated with a B.S. in Accounting at Utah Valley University and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.

  • Bryton WoodWeb Developer & Creative Director

    Bryton brings a variety of experience in marketing and design to our team. He studied graphic design at BYU, and serves to enhance our company and portfolio property’s marketing and advertising efforts. Bryton partnered with our team in 2014 after running his own brand development company. He oversees the design and manufacturing of custom signage across Redstone’s portfolio as well as numerous front-end web development projects.

  • Julie AllisonOffice Manager

    Julie brings to the company 17 years of executive office experience. She prides herself on professionalism and organization. At Redstone, Julie oversees much of our accounts payable process as well as coordinates travel for the team. Julie studied Psychology at Palomar College and Brigham Young University. She is a great asset to our organization.

  • Katie EllettDirector of Human Resources

    Katie oversees HR and ensures that our employees are happy, heard, supported… and that nobody tells inappropriate jokes. She started at one of our larger properties as a leasing agent and basically filled the property faster than her desk chair could be delivered – #goat? In just a few short months, her skills got her seated in the leasing manager’s chair, which meant we had to buy a new chair again. Fast forward three more months and Katie was moving her way into the lead role onsite as the Community Manager – no new chair needed this time :). She proves time and time again her ability to get results, provide incredible service, and support the needs of our amazing employees.

  • Evan ReyneDirector of Marketing

    Sasquatch isn’t a myth, cause he is Evan. At 6’8”, wearing a size 16 shoe, (and yes, plays basketball), Evan is a profit driven marketer. With a wealth of experience and knowledge from growing young startups, to bringing near dead brands back to life, and generating multi-million dollar revenues – he is a total marketing nerd. Evan thrives on getting results, hitting goals, and is always implementing new strategies to reach new heights.

  • Jace OlsonDirector of Training & Property Success

    From an MBA student, to a broker to a investment property owner himself, Jace lives and breathes the art of real estate. With this background, he strives to help managers become autonomous and harvest a wealth of property management knowledge to become masters of their own vineyards. In turn, this success helps facilitate personal and professional growth opportunities for managers that streamline company operations. With the nickname, “Random,” there is nothing arbitrary about Jace’s desire to perfect processes to optimize efficiency.
