About Our Team
Grant is a co-founder and partner at Redstone Residential and serves as CEO. His responsibilities include business development as well as overseeing the financial operations of the company’s portfolio. Since 2009, Grant has grown Redstone from 1,000 to over 8,000 beds of student housing, and has underwritten over $290mm in closed student housing acquisitions. Grant is a graduate of the BYU Marriott School of Management, where he studied Finance. Grant holds a real estate broker license in the States of Utah and Washington.
Jake is Chief Operating Officer at Redstone Residential. As a widely respected customer service and customer experience guru, his primary responsibilities include overseeing the company’s sales activities and ensuring successful leasing at the company’s portfolio properties. Prior to his time at Redstone, Jake was president of a manufacturing company who marketed their products through online sales. Jake has also worked as a licensed Massage Therapist and enjoys helping people feel and be their best.
Gaylun is a co-founder and partner at Redstone Residential and serves as President. Gaylun brings 40 years of “on the ground” management experience to Redstone Residential. He began his career in the property management industry as a maintenance manager in 1976, as a college student. After graduating from Brigham Young University, Gaylun became General Manager for the Busch Corporation, an apartment development company, managing development and construction for large student housing properties, including Centennial Apartments and Raintree Apartments in Provo. He has managed thousands of beds for decades in every capacity imaginable and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.
Eric is a Portfolio Manager at Redstone Residential. His portfolio includes over 2000 student beds across 4 states. Eric brings deep on-site experience to his portfolio and to the teams he manages. Beginning in 2009, Eric worked as a Customer Service Technician (Maintenance Team) and later as a Community Manager at Redstone Residential. Promoted to Portfolio Manager in 2014, Eric has overseen the addition of several communities to Redstone’s portfolio.
Donetta Brings nearly 40 years of experience in student housing to Redstone Residential, Inc. Donetta manages a portfolio of several of our UVU and BYU properties.
Marissa has served at almost every position imaginable (still hasn’t tried maintenance!) at Redstone Residential. While she currently oversees HR and is our internal systems expert, she started at Redstone in 2009 as a Community Assistant. Since then, she has been property manager of a 700 bed, Class-A student housing development. Most recently, she was a property accountant in Redstone’s accounting department. Marissa has significant front-line experience working on-site at student housing developments, and enjoys training staff and assisting in sovling problems to give managers the tools they need to be successful. Marissa is a graduate of Utah Valley University where she studied Business Management and Mathematics.
Ashley Wood is our Director of Leasing.
Michael is serves as a Property Accountant at Redstone Residential. Over the last four years Michael has provided back end support to go with Redstone Residential’s growth with the implementation of new accounting systems, new payroll systems and a modernization of the companies benefits program. Michael oversees accounting functions for 11 properties in Redston’es portfolio.
Stephany Downing is the Property Controller at Redstone Residential. Her main areas of focus include supervision of production of financial statements for Redstone’s portfolio on a monthly basis. Stephany graduated with a B.S. in Accounting at Utah Valley University and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.
Bryton Wood is Redstone’s Director of Marketing.
